Fitchburg Speaks

  • Fitchburg State University 160 Pearl Street Fitchburg, MA, 01420 United States (map)

As part of this year’s Fitchburg Community Read, we invite you to participate in a community storytelling experience centered on the meaning of food in our lives.

We are collecting stories that reflect connection, memory, and personal experience. A selection of storytellers will be invited to share their narratives at Fitchburg Speaks, a live event celebrating voices from across our community, taking place on May 6th, 2026 at 3:30pm, in the Falcon Hub at Fitchburg State University.

Prompt:
Submit intriguing narratives about a moment or moments in your life when food became a meaningful experience. Perhaps it was a family tradition, a cultural ritual, a meal during a turning point, or something unexpectedly powerful. How did food shape that moment, and why has it stayed with you?

This is an opportunity to share your story, listen to others, and be part of a meaningful community conversation.

You can submit your story here. The deadline for submissions is April 27th, 2026.
